Scott Dempsey - Director
A graduate of the Ohio State University with a Masters Degree from the University of Dayton, Scott Dempsey began his coaching career in 1983 at his alma mater, Bexley High School, where he spent 5 years as an assistant boys coach before moving on to Westerville South, Hilliard, and back to Bexley as the Head Girls Coach in 1998. Currently, he is the girls head coach at Bishop Watterson High School.
Scott Dempsey has led 14 teams to the OHSAA State Tournament, including the 2009 Girls Division II State Championship team, the 1999 State Runner-up team and 8 regional finalists. He has presided over 20 Central District championship teams and 21 league championship teams.
Coach Dempsey has been League Coach of the Year 21 times;
Central District Coach of the Year 12 times; State Coach of the Year 8 times; and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America/United Soccer Coaches - National Coach of the Year nominee three times.
He has been honored as the Joint Soccer Officials Association Sportsmanship Award winner and with the JSOA Team Sportsmanship Award; and has had three players awarded JSOA Sportsmanship Awards and Scholarships.
An OHSAA Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award, Scott Dempsey has been fortunate to have coached 8 NSCAA High School All-Americans, 6 NSCAA Academic All-Americans, 14 NSCAA Academic All-Regional selections; 3 Ohio Players of the Year, 5 Division II POY’s and 38 All-State Players.
In 2019 Coach Dempsey was honored to be inducted into the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
